Lynsight is proud to announce that two of its clinical advisory board members have been recognized by the Collaborative Group of the Americas–International Gastrointestinal Cancer Consortium (CGA-IGC) for their exceptional contributions to hereditary gastrointestinal cancer research and care. The awards will be presented during the 2025 CGA-IGC Annual Meeting at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch on October 8, 2025.
Heather Hampel, MS, CGC, CGAF – CGA-IGC Achievement Award
Heather Hampel, Professor in the Department of Medical Oncology and Therapeutics Research at City of Hope National Cancer Center, received the 2025 CGA-IGC Achievement Award. As the first genetic counselor to receive this honor, Ms. Hampel is recognized as a global leader in Lynch syndrome research. Her work includes over 170 publications on prevalence, testing protocols, cost-effectiveness, and referral guidelines. She has tirelessly advocated for broader testing, enabling more patients to benefit from early detection and preventive strategies.
Michael Hall, MD, CGAF – Dennis J. Ahnen Outstanding Service Award
Michael Hall, GI oncologist and Chairman of the Department of Clinical Genetics at Fox Chase Cancer Center, was honored with the Dennis J. Ahnen Outstanding Service Award. Dr. Hall has devoted more than a decade of service to CGA-IGC, including leadership roles as Executive Council member, President, and Treasurer. His dedication has helped guide the organization’s growth and impact, while mentoring emerging leaders in hereditary gastrointestinal cancer care.
